About us

Our Pre-School
Moordown Pre-school is committed to providing learning experiences for each child in preparation for early success and school readiness. Our pre-school team provide a broad range of educational & fun opportunities that will help each child learn to the best of his or her abilities.
Our setting operates from the scout hall. Our play room is calm with neutral colours, high ceilings & lots of natural light. The children and staff free flow from this area into our outside space, creating an inside/outside play and learning environment to meet the needs of all children, encouraging lots of children’s choice. We have daily use of the Moordown St Johns School playground, for the children to have more space for their physical play & development., we also have regular access to school field. We have a very good relationship with this school and other local schools. We provide quality childcare and education through highly qualified and well experienced staff with a wide range of activities out to specifically encourage each individual child’s learning and development needs. We encourage every child to develop naturally and provide every opportunity to learn through play.
Children’s learning Journals
Each child has a an online learning journal for parents to view at home, work or on the move on tablets, computers or smart phones. Parents are involved in contributing to this and reviewing their child’s milestones and achievements both at pre school and at home in these journals. The child’s key person , who works closely with the child & parents will observe, take photos, video clips, audio clips to show parents their child’s individual ongoing development & to support, plan and extend the children’s learning to encourage the child’s next steps within the EYFS.

Parent Partnership
Parent Partnership is an important part of the work we do, we really value your input and involvement in both your child’s learning journey and our pre-school.We welcome parent helpers to take part in activities such as: painting, sewing, cooking or gardening. In addition we ask parents to support us with trips and outings. During the year parents are regularly invited in to the  pre-school to take part in a session, so that parents can see how children learn through play.
